The Mousesnaps Story

People always say that you get your best ideas when you’re relaxing - which is exactly what I was doing on a beach in Miami when my roommate called to tell me that a mouse had chewed its way through our pantry door and sampled half of its contents.

"We're going to have to get those old-fashioned traps," my roommate said. "Because they actually work."

She was right. Those snap traps do work - they're just ugly.

In fact, the only reason I didn’t set them sooner was because they're such an eyesore. Well, that and I didn’t think the mouse was about to eat its way through plywood and take a nap in a can of peanuts.

But things change. And it somehow occurred to me that the traps would be much easier to tolerate if they were pink. And had polka dots. And maybe glitter.

Luckily, I had nothing better to do when I returned home from Miami, and I decided to make some. And thus the idea for Mousesnaps was officially born.

It's sort of like the whole “When life gives you lemons thing,” but with mice. And traps.

And glitter.
